Position Title: Glade House Second Shift Therapeutic Aide

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Clinical Services
FLSA Classification: Full-time/Non-Exempt

House of Ruth is a 30-year-old nonprofit HIV/AIDS services organization with a mission of strengthening lives for those with or affected by HIV/AIDS. We do this by offering housing and support services with a holistic focus on low-income individuals who are HIV-positive, as well as their family members who count on them for financial and emotional support.

The successful candidate is a hands-on problem solver who takes the job duties very seriously but is able to find humor in the day-to-day, sometimes unpredictable occurrences of a nonprofit that provides direct services to an underserved client population.

Job Summary: 

The Overnight Therapeutic Aide is responsible for providing operational support for HIV/AIDS adults who participate in the Glade House Emergency and Short-term Housing Program. Glade House is a 24/7 sober living community for up to 13 homeless adults who are HIV-positive.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor residents’ activities
  • Help to provide a safe environment for residents and guests
  • Assist with routine drug and alcohol screenings
  • Assist with maintaining program budget on food and supplies
  • Assist with Glade House facility inspections
  • Document clients’ daily activities and therapeutic interventions related to goals and daily functions
  • Assist with Supervising Self Administration Medication (SSAM)
  • Supervise and assist residents as needed during meal preparation, housekeeping responsibilities, and other activities
  • Maintain clinical records as dictated by policies and procedures
  • Provide transportation to residents as needed
  • Take inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Make spot checks on residents who choose to remain in their room during a shift
  • Be responsible to contact appropriate on call staff in case of an emergency as outlined in the staff decision tree
  • Make written reports of significant incidents during shift
  • Serve as an informal advocate for residents and provide individual needs management
  • Correct inappropriate behavior and help residents meet program expectations
  • Provide first aid to all residents and assist in follow through on emergency medical needs
  • Assist in maintaining all necessary supplies for residents, i.e., grooming, household cleaning, and items needed for staff
  • Assist in general upkeep of facility such as cleaning of office, restroom, and other common areas
  • Monitor resident sign in and out sheet
  • Additional, selected responsibilities or tasks to be performed from time to time may be required as necessary

Physical Effort:

Physical exertion requirements other than routine, e.g., off and on-loading, carrying, lifting, or other movements related to the work of the position are to be undertaken with the advice of the supervisor.

Position Title: Housing Case Manager

Job Summary:

The Housing Case Manager will conduct assessments, develop individualized case plans, link families with community resources, conduct home visits, and provide case management services for clients in permanent housing. Will work collaboratively with other staff members to help clients achieve economic and social/emotional self-sufficiency and maintain permanent housing.    

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Salary Range:  $37,000 — $42,000

Responsibilities:

  • Provides case management and service coordination designed to assist clients in maintaining stable housing
  • Develops individualized case plan in collaboration with client in the areas of, but not limited to, daily living skills, money management, employment linkage, benefits establishment, linkage to substance abuse and mental health care, and all other services need to assist clients in reaching treatment goals
  • Assists clients in locating safe, affordable housing
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed
  • Serves as a client advocate with third parties as needed
  • Maintains required client documentation and progress notes
  • Additional, selected responsibilities or tasks to be performed from time to time may be required, as necessary.

Old Louisville

Work Schedule:

Every Friday, 11pm to 9 am; Every Saturday, 4 to 10 pm; Every other Sunday, 9 am to 4 pm.

NOTE: will consider splitting these hours across two positions!

Work Conditions:

Perfect for a student; there will be time to study on the clock.

Starting Pay:  $13.50 per hour
