Thank you to Marcy for dropping off eight bags of tampons, pads, and other hygiene products last week. With this donation we can now provide menstrual care items in the personal hygiene bags available to our clients, about 30% of whom are women. The average woman spends $20 on menstrual products per cycle. Since these products aren’t covered by SNAP or any welfare program, individuals who need these essentials and are struggling financially often face difficult choices and may have to neglect their menstrual health.
Our personal hygiene bags contain essential toiletries: toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent pods, dish soap, deodorant, toilet paper, and razors. Thanks to the large donation from Marcy, we now include a “period pack”. We continually need toiletries.
